Flights from New York to Jeddah and Madinah
Most of our New York pilgrims fly out of JFK. Saudia flies nonstop from JFK to Jeddah, and that flight takes about 11 to 12 hours. One-stop flights on Qatar Airways, Turkish Airlines, Emirates, or EgyptAir usually take 14 to 18 hours, depending on the layover.
If you live in New Jersey, Newark (EWR) may be closer, and some one-stop flights leave from there. Tell us which airport works for you and we will price both.
Nonstop seats sell out early for Ramadan and winter break. If a nonstop flight matters to you, book as early as you can.
Umrah Visa for New York Pilgrims
Your visa is part of every package. You send us a copy of your passport and a photo, and we handle the application.
You will need:
- A passport that is valid for at least 6 months after your travel date
- A recent passport photo
- A meningitis (ACWY) vaccine, taken at least 10 days before you fly
Green card holders and other non-U.S. passport holders can travel with us too. Visa steps differ by passport, so call us before you book. We also show you how to use the Nusuk app, which you need to reserve your visit to the Rawdah in Madinah.
Best Time to Go for Umrah from New York
You can go for Umrah any month of the year. November through February is the most comfortable, since Makkah is much cooler then.
Ramadan and late December are the busiest and most expensive times. Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin around February 8. For those dates, book 4 to 6 months ahead. See our Ramadan Umrah Packages and December Umrah Packages for current prices.
For other months, booking 2 to 3 months ahead is usually enough.
Family and Group Umrah from New York
We book families on the same flights and in rooms next to each other. Tell us if you are traveling with small children, an elderly parent, or someone who uses a wheelchair, and we will pick a hotel with a short, flat walk to the Haram.
We also set up group trips for masjids and community groups in Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, Long Island, and New Jersey. Groups share transport, which lowers the price per person.
Have relatives joining from Texas? They can book the same trip through our Dallas Umrah Packages and meet you in Makkah.

How early should I book Umrah from New York?
Book 2 to 3 months ahead for most dates. For Ramadan or late December, book 4 to 6 months ahead, because flights and hotels near the Haram sell out first.
